Statement of purpose: Throughout this class, we have focused on developing your ability to take an issue in local, state, and federal government and evaluate the history of, the problems posed by, and the possible solutions of the issue. As a class and as individuals you have explored the intricacies of some pressing matters in our society today.
You Task: You will select one issue of interest to you that we have either discussed in class or something in which you have a personal interest. This topic has to relate to local, state, or federal government or be an issue of pressing importance to your community or the world. Through one of many different mediums, you will explain/analyze/ evaluate:
the history behind this issue.
to whom this issue applies and why.
why this has become such an issue today.
how it is related to our work in class.
differing points of view on this issue.
government proposals to fix this issue.
YOUR own proposal to fix the problem (based in fact and drawn from the ideas of sources).
How can I do this? It is YOUR choice. Some ways you might wish to consider are:

Qualifications: I am allowing you to work with any issue & display your understanding in MOST ways.
You may work with ONE partner and ONE partner ONLY.

Expectations:
Your final product should:
show an understanding and an explanation/ analysis/ evaluation of ALL aspects of the task in the medium YOU chose. (Refer to the syllabus to make sure you have accomplished ALL aspects of the task with your project!)
meet all aspects of the task.
